Why This Work Matters?

The relationship between the United States and Israel involves diplomacy, security, innovation, trade, culture, education, and civil society. It also raises important questions about history, identity, law, public policy, and the place of democratic societies in today’s world.

The UC Israel Initiative gives students and the public access to reliable, nuanced knowledge while creating space for rigorous and respectful discussion. Its programs consider both historical context and contemporary developments, and they welcome multiple perspectives grounded in evidence and careful inquiry.

The initiative builds on the University of Cincinnati’s strengths across departments and colleges, as well as Cincinnati’s distinctive Jewish educational, archival, cultural, and civic resources.
